Again boys and girls I'm forced to intervene on the playground and make some
points that I'm sure you already know....

In regards to the recent turmoil here are 2 points:

1) The posting of private e-mail to a public group without the author's
permission is considered a breach of proper netiquette and is frowned
upon--no matter what the content. There is no MoPo rule banning such
behavior, but I didn't realize we needed one. That said, one should always
be aware that anything written on-line *could* potentially be made
public--and compose accordingly.

2) Being a member of MoPo does not give anyone the right to take another
member's e-mail address which is provided by the listserv and privately
hassle them. This is NOT the intention of this group. While technically it's
outside my jurisdiction, I do consider it another case of poor netiquette,
or basically just not-so-nice behavior.

Options?

If I have to, I will change the listserv settings to HIDE private e-mails.
This would mean replies can only be made via the group. That will make for
some interesting business transactions....no privacy at all when you're
negotiating.

If you don't like someone that's your business. But I'm growing tired of
what I perceive as a continuing pattern of disrespect. Civility in this
world is becoming a rare thing, but I intend to maintain it on MoPo--to the
best of my listowner's ability. I can't imagine any of you would say these
things if you were looking the other person in the eye. Hiding behind a
computer screen is absolutely no excuse. If you can't treat others with the
respect they deserve and can't control what your fingers type, please do me
a favor and unsubscribe.

Cliché warning: LIFE IS TOO SHORT. Please, for the sake of civility, don't
waste your time and energy firing off nasty e-mails to those you don't like
or agree with. Use your DELETE key to do the filtering. It's only one key
stroke. Maybe it will save you from carpel tunnel (and a nervous breakdown).

I want to remind everyone that I RUN THIS LIST. I am the listowner. Please
respect that fact. I am NOT currently taking applications for a replacement.

I'm serious about this.

Scott
MoPo List Owner
