I was at last year's auction. Haven't had a chance to look over this year's
catalogue in detail yet.

Keep in mind prices are in Canadian dollars, with an official exchange rate
of about 11% last time I looked. In other words, prices would be about 11%
cheaper to American buyers. Check with Ritchies to see what exchange rate
they use, it could be different. This could explain the hefty buyer's
premium, taking the exchange rate into account.

I know a few buyers who did quite well last year, even taking the BP and
shipping costs into account. I suggest you call Ritchie's and make a few
enquiries before bidding.

As for shipping, can't comment. I was in the room at the time, so simply
picked up my purchases at the end of the auction and took them home. Haven't
yet decided whether I'm driving down this time for the auction or doing
phone bids.

Good luck,
Dave
