Hey Guys,    I, too, have flat files. I bought them used. One of them was very beat up on the outside with scratches and age, no dents. I took it to an Earl Scheib auto paint location and they painted it to look like new for $75. I line the inside of the drawers with contact paper. You can get it at Home Depot, etc. and it is that paper that you typically line kitchen drawers and cabinets with. It is like a thin vinyl and is adhesive on the back side. Not that I have too, but it will clean easily. I keep a list on the side of the cabinet as to the contents in each drawer. I usually have about 15-20 one sheets in a drawer. All are linenbacked. I keep half sheets and inserts in those drawers also. They are mostly not paperbacked, a few are, so I can get more in the pile. You would be surprised how easily they slip out. I put them all face up in the drawer with the exception of the last one and that one goes face down on top of the others. Sometimes, if the linenbacking is not laying perfectly flat on the top poster, I put a piece of 1/4" foamcore on top to act as a slight weight and to give some additional protection in case the drawer above that one has any problems. So, that's the scoop. I love them. You can even lay rolls of posters across the top.
