Four authentic original giant theater displays from the 1968 premiere of Stanley Kubricks masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Size: 27½x39½---mounted on masonite. Images from the film in full color---17½x38½. Banner with 1968 MGM logo and film title. Printed in Italy by Rotolito, Roma. The film premiered in Mexico City at the Cine Latino on Halloween, Oct 31, 1968. ---female in space ship, walking on round passageway ---pod about to land ---man floating in space, shot of 2 dishes on space ship ---2 men at control panel looking out of front window ---banner on all 4 displays with title, 1968 MGM logo, D-150 designation Film was shown in 70 mm, with the new Dimension 150 lens system that could project an amazing Super Cinerama image on a deeply curved screen, along with 6-track stereo sound. The displays are somewhat weathered, but remarkably intact, with the four printed blown-up color stills from the film bright and vivid.
