Actually, the first thing I do when trying to authenticate a poster - is look
at the type of paper it's printed on (and what kind of printing it is).
Checking for an NSS stamp on the back would be rather low on the list (although
it would still be a good indicator of authenticity)...

Frankly, if I found a rolled one sheet FROM THE 60's that didn't have the
TITLE OF THE FILM AND NSS NUMBER stamped on the back of it, I would NOT trust
it to be authentic---and I definitely think it should have a GIANT asterisk by
its description stating this fact---and it should NEVER command the exorbitant
prices I see listed for such truly questionable pieces on eBay and other movie
poster websites on the internet.
