Mopo-Specialists -
I spent the evening with Bryan Ryman, the art director of Dark Shadows
and a few Cassavetes films. Among other things, he consigned to me a
fantastic KILLING OF A CHINESE BOOKIE Style-B, but with it was an odd
one - it is a KILLING poster that is 16.5" x 32" and features a Richard
Upper color photo of Seymour Cassel. Bryan said that Cassavetes often
printed special posters for early showings of his films - perhaps
before finished campaigns were created. Posters from this title are
rare enough, but wondered if anyone might know a bit more about what I
have. Perhaps someone with a pressbook might take a peek for any
visual info on it. This piece has the feel of a door panel. That
would also support the fact that Seymour fills the image on this one -
and perhaps there were others with Gazzara and the stunning stripper
image that appears on the Style-B. Thanks for any help on this one.
Happy to email pix for a closer look if anyone so desires.
Thanks!
Alan Adler
