I can see that there could be a very interesting new version of this
story for this time.
With religious intolerance and fanaticism exacerbated by technocrats,
militarists and
ideologues proliferating terror and chaos, a pacific alien appearance
in a smartly written update could
work very well, I think.
Not that it will, necessarily.
But it's clear that this world could use a day of standing still -
absolutely.
