I hate to say that in 1999-2002 I probably spent 20 hours a week
buying on fleaBay but maybe only 5-10 selling (selling was easier
than waking up in the morning back then)
slowly until 2005 I started buying less (companies like Rotman
stopped selling posters) and in Jan 2005 I stopped selling on
fleaBay over a dispute.. I wasn't missing anything.. my sales have
never deteriorated as I always had sales happening from a variety
of areas.
I was still buying, but as 2005 became 2006 and 2007 I did notice
that I was finding less and less which no doubt correlated to the
rising costs of sellers doing business on fleaBay. However since
Feb of this year when they raised the fees, changed the feedback
system, announced they were eliminating fleaBay Live auctions etc..
I am finding almost nothing to keep an eye on with my bid sniper
and I have not bought anything since April and only 12 items all
year.. 11 were from Bruce.
I am currently not watching anything.. but not for lack of trying..
I still spend maybe 5 accumulated hours looking.. but I'm finding
nothing. My searches still seem to work fine.. but there is nothing
there and seeing as I also go down the full lists, I can tell my
searches do work.. there just isn't anything I want or need.
what do I find on fleaBay now??
hordes of playing cards, poker chips and calendars listed in movie
posters categories
lots of posters in the wrong categories (many from a member on this
forum)
so many repros I couldn't count them all
in other words.. fleaBay has killed itself as an auction arena and
to make the transition complete fleaBay has pretty much announced
what I'd been telling Dave L and Phil E for several months.. that
the auction format on fleaBay will be eliminated this year
Bruce still gets about the same business from me as he had been.
Heritage gets a little more and I have more time to spend on work..
fleaBay was a golden goose spreading foie gras for all.. Now all
that goose spreads is doo-doo on the veranda.. I'm glad that at
least in some small part, that MoviePosterBid may have helped turn
that foie gras into runny crap
hobbying forever.. fleaBay.. NEVER!!!
