I've got 11 1/2 years on ebay and have gone through various stages. I started
strictly as a buyer but after buying several collections I moved into the
seller category. I am home based with no concrete store so eBay was my only
way of sales and times were great at points. I had weekends where sales would
go what I am making 3 months on ebay and all money I made went right back into
my obsession of buying MORE. The buying part is my favorite part. I built up
to a point where I had over 8,000 stills and lobby cards in my ebay store but
then ebay jacked up the store prices and hid the stores away from the normal
search. I killed my store off. I have been back to selling various items on
ebay while trying to build a healthy website. I still need ebay for sales even
if they aren't what they used to be and hope that one day I can get
www.ilovefilms.com enough in the public eye to use it as my sole selling area
and even my sole job (I have a
full time day job).
I still love to do random searches through the movie collectibles on ebay in
hopes to find what I feel are cool items for my home office. I love to come
across an occasional Universal studios paperweight or publicity pins from a
vintage film. I have recently moved my home office from it's location in my
garage to a large room in the house and found some great old ebay purchases I
made years ago and still had boxed away. I miss finding items like these on
ebay.....
Those that stuck with me to the end of this email..... Thanks.
Rick
