You are correct. I don't know the artist of the "mean cat" style insert, but there is a cool one sheet with Gould in a doorway that is signed by Bob Peak (but I don't think Peak drew the "mean cat").
There were a ton of different cool posters on this campaign (no doubt because of Robert Altman, and maybe Mike Kaplan's, involvement). Marty Davis is an Altman nut and he should know about this, but I don't think he posts here except for "For Sale" posts! There were a bunch of these multiple insert styles in the 1970s, as I stated in my first reply, but Michael's first post asked about the 1940s and 1950s, and I can't recall a single time in either of those decades where there is more than one first release insert on a single movie.
