Having a closer look at the listing I see that that the seller did say that the poster was from 1959. Robert Burton printers did print some daybills close to that time so it is possible that it could have been printed in 1959 or slighty later although it would be hard to be absolutely certain of the date. There is no mention of the the word "re release" or "reissue" so I wonder if the buyer knew what they were purchasing. It does seem to be a very high price for a reissue daybill.

HI to all I just noticed the following auction for a Rope daybill... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130273165759 Someone has paid an incredibly high price for this poster considering that it is a reissue. The description appears a little vague about that. I would be interested to hear if anyone thinks that the the listing was misleading or not. The key to confirming that it is a reissue is that the printer is Robert Burton who started printing movie posters in approx 1960. Hi, Everyone, I thought I'd offer this as an early Holiday greeting to anyone who might want to take a minute to read it. Was written 3 years ago as part of a children's book yet to be published. Lots of movie monster references---a couple were tweaked a bit to sidestep possible lawsuits. There's actually music set to it with lots of neat, creepy sound effects...but these are just the words. (I've been a lyricist/songwriter all of my life). Hey, it's just my little offering to fellow MoPoer's wishing you all a happy holiday season. Thanks to all of you for your support over the years.
