I never look at people with that level of fame, and assume it's
brought them great happiness or contentment.
Often suspect the opposite.
I think the pressures on them, whether from themselves or external can
make that very difficult.
And, the hugely talented, and driven, (in any field), I don't expect
them to be, well, mentally "normal", for want of a better term.

People like John Belushi, Chris Farley any others you can think of
that have enormous talent and so much to live for lose all
credibility with me when they decide to live a lifestyle that scoffs
at everything they've been given and sends them to their death.
Yes, this is coming from someone who has struggled his whole career
but I'm not sorry when I say not only were all their talent and
success wasted but were not deserved in the first place if they
couldn't handle it.

it isnt as tho he died of terminal cancer or from a heart attack,

Yes.
