Dude! Nanook sent his mother-in-law off into the sea to die! All the
money in the world can't get someone to chew your food for you when
you loose your teeth, either.
Also, people with big houses have more to clean and more people to
hire who steal, etc.
(I actually know some pretty wealthy folk who are really nice AND not
crazy, too.)
Okie Dokie, that was my broken rant of the day,

I used to know a fellow who had a huge trust fund left by his father
and he got over a million a month in interest alone. He was the
absolute nicest guy in every way, and people would say, "Well of
course he is, look at all he has that he doesn't work for and never
worked for" and my response was always that I knew lots of really
wealthy people who were miserable human beings on every level, so it
is still an accomplishment to be really nice even if you are rich.
Nanook knew that happiness doesn't come from the size of your bank
account or how big your house is!

Howdy y'all,
Regarding the Oscar winning performance of Ledger as the Joker in
the movie, The Dark Knight ...
I disagree with any and all who feel that the award was unjustified.
I agree with any all who feel that a long term talent was ultimately
wasted on short term goals.
The movie could have easily been titled The Joker.
BTW ... My opinion is based on intimate knowledge of the depths of
inner demons and the unlimited capacity of psychotic behaviour with
no moral / ethical barriers ... I work as a respiratory therapist in
a hospital and have regular shifts on the psychiatric floor.
Granted, that distinction does not qualify my opinion to be elevated
above any other opinion regarding the Oscar award, but it does make
for interesting cold beverage conversations at leisure.

You don't need a crystal ball to tell that with positions expressed
such as these, you are most definitely "unforgiving" which is what I
said. FRANC

I'm not sure Charles Boyer's fits in the catagory as I believe his
suicide was planned while the others were not.
People like John Belushi, Chris Farley any others you can think of
that have enormous talent and so much to live for lose all
credibility with me when they decide to live a lifestyle that
scoffs at everything they've been given and sends them to their
death.
Yes, this is coming from someone who has struggled his whole career
but I'm not sorry when I say not only were all their talent and
success wasted but were not deserved in the first place if they
couldn't handle it.

i agree glenn..
why does NO ONE consider that Ledger OD'd because he voluntarily
CHOSE to consume a literal pharmacy of pills that caused his death?
what a moron. does anyone remember the initial stories talking
about the menagerie of drugs found at his apt? why reward someone
for that? i guess it's all very PC and gives good face to the
Academy. he WON because he OD's and was so young--period.
it isnt as tho he died of terminal cancer or from a heart attack,
prior to the awards, like peter finch did.

I liked TDK. I didn't fall all over myself in praise of it but it
was certainly a movie I'd watch again. As to Heath Ledger. Great
performance but I don't think he'd have won if he hadn't died young.
My 2 cents...

Yes.
But then again, I'm one of the simpletons who actually liked The
Dark
Knight.
Apparently no one else in MoPo land did.
