I actually use LOL if I laugh out loud and lol if I giggle/chuckle.
Now you know.

By the way, when someone prints "LOL". are they really, I mean
REALLY laughing out loud as they're writing their email...or could
they in actuality be grousing and grumbling....maybe manically
mumbling. I see lots of LOL's lately, but I honestly don't think
the author is truly "laughing out loud" on the other end.
