Rick: Well I don't "quite" agree, though I understand why you and others prefer "imagination." But I myself would like to see what other members look like, esp. the babes we have as members. No one has to or should do it, but a BAN? In my view, images of members -- from those members -- while sharing info or experiences about posters and the like aren't that far-off-topic, e.g., comparable to boilerplate "avatars" I've seen elsewhere. When people can attach a name to a face, it "can" reduce flames and the quasi-sectarian literary violence that breaks out here. For ex., (Toochis, don't be embarrassed), I've seen Toochis and she's cute. She won't post her image and I wouldn't either -- because it's her privacy we're talking about, not mine. But because I've seen her image, I'm gonna think twice before writing a nasty note to her -- unlike the ones FRANC and I write to and about each other. Web-hosted images less than 300KB -- (vs. attachments automatically rejected by LISTSERV.AMERICAN.EDU) -- can be controlled and taken down permanently unless cached. For ex., I took the photo of myself down easily from my web-hosted site. Go to the archive or your in-box -- and you won't find it unless someone is nutty enough to save it to their hard drive.
