Thanks everyone for the very kind words. We really appreciate it. It's
really a lot of work.

We believe that this is a huge step in the documentation of the hobby but
this is only the first step. Over the weekend, Sue re-sorted all the numbers
and worked out the kinks in setting up to combine the 1962 NSS Master Log
which NSS issued by title. I've now started that process which will take
another couple of months. This is the 2nd of 3 passes that is needed to put
out the NSS books this fall.

AND THIS IS JUST THE FIRST STEPS... This information will then generate ALL
the reissues that were handled by NSS. THEN it will generate all the film
distributors that were handled by NSS and pinpoint the year they started and
the year they stopped. It will also generate a list of all the films handled
by NSS that each distributor handled.

This project is so massive that I figure that we will be compiling and
re-sorting information for the next few years before we get everything in
place. Then once we're finished with THAT, we can then compare and combine
production code numbers and start all the re-sorting and compiling all over
again. Doesn't that sound like TONS OF FUN!!!!

Ok.. I just got tired thinking about it all. I think I need a nap :-(

Subject: [MOPO] NSS Update!!

I just wanted to let EVERYBODY- know...

THAT I FINISHED THE FIRST PASS OF THE NSS NUMBERS!!!!

This first pass was the combination of the 1999 NSS Book that Bruce bought a
few years ago PLUS ALL the NSS numbers that we had gathered over the years
at LAMP...

It's almost 25,000 NSS numbers with Title AND the distributor from 1940
through 1999

AND THEY ARE NOW ONLINE in the LAMP Members Section. Go to Members
Section...Either go to US . OR go to Logs
<http://www.learnaboutmovieposters.com/newsite/INDEX/ARTICLES/Logs-Mem.asp>
and look for NSS Number Log

MAN was that a LOT OF WORK!!!

Just this first pass has both cleared up a lot of questions AND created a
lot more.. Whenever there was a conflict between poster info and the 1999
log, I put the conflict in maroon behind the title.

Now the FUN begins.. In the second pass, we are re-sorting ALL the NSS
numbers by TITLE. We are then checking that list against the 1962 NSS Master
Log that we acquired PLUS adding in the trailer numbers starting with 1930
when the NSS numbering system started plus additional information from the
Master Log.

THEN.. We will re-sort again to identify ALL the reissues that went through
NSS.

(Sorry.. I had to tell somebody!!)
