There's certainly some people that are but blind to a title/star, although some sites lump DVDs in with all movie memorabilia and/or potential buyers don't bother to filter beyond that.
If one can have a "favourite negative" on eBay, ours would be: I ORDERED A DVD AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS STUPID POSTER. A low feedbacker, and they posted the neg without any correspondence at all. It also demonstrates a common misconception among many casual buyers and that eBay is a store where they purchase rather than they are dealing with individual sellers. I think DVDs are a bit like books (and book trade people will know what I am talking about) and that there is an imagined book or DVD. It doesn't exist, but they know they saw it somewhere and hang on tenaciously to that. So I move 1200 items to IOffer with no sales or offers until 5 days ago when I sold an autographed 8x10" Jerry Lewis Movie photo from You're Never Too Young. Yay, I thought.... I made my first sale on IOffer... Then I get my first message from the buyer "I am glad to finally find this DVD, do you have the DVD of enter title here which I could buy too". Argh....!!
