Rich,
No, no one has been reimbursed for a forged Creature one sheet. Two were sold
by Heritage after November of '07. I am not sure any of us know exactly when
the beginnings of repros began but my belief is early to mid 2008, though I am
sure opinions will vary. But the two copies of the Creature one sheets I did
sell since that date were unbacked and unrestored in any way, and in near mint
condition. I do have a copy in the upcoming sale and know it to be original as
had a 3-D logo on it and it was removed before the backing. Had I known the
poster had been faked probably would have left in the original condition with
the large printed snipe.

See results below.

Grey, did you have cause to privately reimburse any buyers of Creature
from the Black Lagoon 1 shts?
If not, have you checked any bought from Heritage prior to your
knowledge of the fakes?
(Or for that matter, other perhaps as yet unknown 1 sheet fakes.)

Obviously, if a Black Cat 1 sheet can be scanned and reproduced,
almost anything else is a far easier task.
Without knowing how many of that rare example have been doing the
rounds in the last fews years, I imagine finding one to scan must be
incredibly challenging compared to any pieces of lesser rarity and
value.
And, while worth less, far more lesser value fakes can reach the
market before there's any suspicion of the numbers.

We can, I hope, look forward to an entertaining, (if not illuminating)
response.

Richard

PS: Thought I'd start a CFTBL thread on NSFGE. Easier for posting
pics, and besides things have a tendency to go a bit quiet on here.
