I just want to take a moment to compliment Sue and Ed of LAMP on the
*outstanding* job they are doing in cataloging the information of the
forgery issues(s) and staying on top of things and updating the info on
their site so often.
They have complied something as close to the "master list" of known
fakes that we have. Also, the info on some of the detection techniques
(such as the use of black light) is very helpful. As is the note that
the paper used in the high-end reproductions by s2art.com does *not*
glow under blacklight because unlike most other modern papers, S2 uses
specialty "old style" rag paper from France (yet another reason why an
S2 repro can be effectively used as the base for creating a forgery).
Thank you, American Film Institute, for helping raise poster forgery to
new heights...
But a genuine, non-ironic Thank You goes to Ed and Sue for all the work
they are doing on this issue.

Hi Susan-
Thanks for the link to the update (I had not seen it). Ed and
yourself (as well as Bruce H.) seem to be the only places where new
information is being given to the collecting community.
Thanks for your service in this.
Best,
Steve

Hi Steven
This is Susan from LAMP (LearnAboutMoviePosters.com
<http://www.learnaboutmovieposters.com>). Although not much is
being posted there are a lot of things happening in this area. We
are doing our best to keep up with the changes as they happen. We
have a report on LAMP which is updated as we receive new
information. You can get to it from the home page (it's the
button in neon). Here is the link
<http://www.learnaboutmovieposters.com/newsite/INDEX/ARTICLES/Frauds-Update.htm>.
We have compiled a list of the titles mentioned in the two
lawsuits and titles submitted to us from other sources such as
other collectors, John Davis at postermountain, etc. As we get
new titles, we will keep adding to the list. You will see the
link to the list on the report. This is by no means complete.
There is an active FBI investigation going on and we have been in
regular contact with Special Agent Michael P. Mullahy. However,
we will not post any information related directly to the
investigation unless Agent Mullahy asks us to. For example, he
asked that we post his contact information for anyone who believes
that they may have a fake poster from the parties named in the
lawsuits. This is where he is focusing at this time. His
contact information is in the report should you determine that you
have a fake poster from these parties. Obviously, Agent Mullahy
does not want any of the details of the investigation posted at
this time.
We were also informed by one of the experts examining these fakes
that SOMETIMES you can tell if the poster is fake by passing a
black light over it. This is particularly true with the one
sheets. Newer paper (paper from the 1980's to present) will
usually give off a glow unless it is covered by paint. In the
case of these fakes, most of the posters were airbrushed over the
entire posters. However, there were some specific areas that were
too small to airbrush and this left a spot which glowed. You
will find more info on this an a picture in the report.
There were also new pleadings filed in the lawsuits this past
week. Ron Magid has filed an answer to the counterclaim filed by
Haggard in the _Magid v. Haggard_ lawsuit. In the _Gresham v.
Haggard_ lawsuit, Jamie Mendez has filed a motion to dismiss the
claims against him. Again, a summary of these pleadings can be
found on the report.
Because LAMP is an informational site, we will only post
information that we can confirm from either a reliable source or
from documentation, such as in the legal proceedings.
I believe that Bruce Hershenson is including reports in his
newsletters so you may want to check there as well.
Hope this answers some of your questions.
