For those who have not been able to link to the image of the CAVALCADE
three-sheet, you have to copy and paste the direct link I sent
previously or you can just do a search for the title (or any title) in
our card catalog which is http://catalog.oscars.org and Search using
Title Keyword with Quick Limit set to Posters. Our entire poster
collection prior to 1970 is in the catalog (nearly all with small yet
discernible images).
As I understand it we made a reproduction from an original CAVALCADE
one-sheet before I started working at The Academy (20 years ago) from
a copy that was owned by 20th Century Fox. Apparently that copy was
stolen not long after that and obviously hasn't been seen since. So
there is at least one CAVALCADE one-sheet out there that someone is
hiding away.
