Hey, I've had a couple of those questionable, slightly smaller Help! one
sheets put away in my "collection" for the past 20 years. Only upon
receiving 2 of these tri-folded Help! one sheets in the mail was I certain
that
the one sheets I'd had for 20 years weren't the real deal. A couple of
weeks ago, I was selling a Help! one sheet on eBay that was dry mounted to
foam
core. Grey Smith from Heritage Auctions emailed me to question whether
the one sheet had the title of the film and date stamped on the back.
Obviously, I had no idea because it was dry-mounted. Grey was the one who put
in
my mind the importance of the stampp ON THE BACK of the poster. Not
longer after that, Marci appeared with her tri-folded Help! one sheets with
the
stamp on the back and I IMMEDIATELY bought two of them and thought I'd
share my find with other MoPoer's. Little did I know that such a degree of
paranoia would arise. Hey, if IU had 20 of them and needed cash, I'd contact
a big dealer and offer them to him (or her) for $350 each--just like Marci
is doing to try to raise money to help her daughter furnish her house. Just
because something is sold at a LOW PRICE doesn't mean it's FAKE! The lady
wants to get some money together fast and she's doing EXACTLY the same
thing I would do, only offering the discount to MoPo members instead of Bruce
or Rich or someone else.
        Rick
