Hi, Sue,
As it says in Marci's description, she was a dealer in Beatles and other
music-related material in the late 70's here in L.A. (I think Hollywood).
She only realized she'd had these stored away for 30 years a couple of
weeks ago. So, I don't think these fall into the same category as tri-folded
one sheets that are "suddenly appearing". I have no doubt that what she's
saying is 100% accurate. Hey, I had some minor doubts until I opened up
the tube they were shipped in and looked at them. I knew instantaneously
that they were the real deal. So, I thought I'd kill two birds with one
stone (hate to use that reference)--- help her sell the rest of her tri-folded
Help! one sheets and offer MoPo members what I thought to be a great deal
at the same time. I viewed it as a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Yes Rick. I figured she had just used someone else's picture even though,
and you are correct, it would have been better to show the actual
tri-folded one sheet someone would be bidding on just to emphasize the fact
that it
was indeed a tri-fold. For you, having worked with paper for so many years,
I'm sure you can validate their authenticity. I wasn't questioning that at
all. Just wondered why she had used someone else's photo. But I know that
are many tri-folded posters out there and many of them have just surfaced
in the las 10 years. Some of it could be do to many of the distribution
houses gettting rid of old inventory. I know this to be a fact, as I do
framing
for some of those distribution houses right here in L.A. and they
routinely get "destruction" orders for old inventory. Most of them are suppose
to
shred or destroy the posters. Many of them just throw it away or take it to
the recyler. A few years back, I was at a recycler in North Hollywood and
stack against a back wall was thousands of lobby card sets, brand new, being
recycled. It near broke my heart....

Hi, Sue,
It was brought to my attention by Dave Lieberman that the photo of the
Help! one sheet was lifted from his site. (He wasn't upset). It's too bad
because I've purchased two of these one sheets and they are indeed
tri-folded and 100% authentic. It definitely would have suited the seller
better if
she'd taken a picture of the actual one sheet that was being auctioned.
I'd stake my entire reputation on the authenticity of these one sheets.
Maybe it's justified, but there's so much paranoia running rampant in the
hobby
that at times it's ridiculous. It's hard for me to believe that all of
these tri-folded Help! one sheets haven't been sold by now.

I did think that was strange. I looked at the picture and noticed it
wasn't a tri-fold but a linenbacked one sheet. The other thing that is
interesting about the Help one sheet, is that it is notoriously not exactly
27x41.
I have framed many Help one sheets. All have been folded, national screen
service style, and they often measure about 40 1/2. Many years ago when I
framed the first one, I noted the size and thought it might have been
trimmed, but all four quandrants of the poster were the same size, about 10
1/8"
instead of 10 1/4". However, I have linenbacked and framed many more and, as
I recall, they all turn out to be that same slightly undersized dimension.
I think there has been some talk here on the forum in past years about
that issue and mentioned in auctions when they are being sold. Perhaps there
are some straight 27x41's out there as there could be some from two
different print sources. I will also note that they could be posters that were
intended for foreign distribution as they were often pack and shipped that way.
