I am never offended by criticism, as long as it is 100% truthful.
Your lower rates ARE a good selling point, and you are right to flog
that issue over and over, just as I keep stressing my lack of buyers
premiums, my superior packaging, my supermarket selection that lets
you save big on shipping, my never enhancing photos, my more
accurate and more honest grading, etc. etc.!
If you ever find you aren't making enough money and need to raise
your rates, please be sure to announce that too!

Bruce, your packaging is superior. But so is mine. Last year I had a
single package damaged in shipment and no complaints.
in 2008 two packages were lost - to the same buyer in Europe and both
shipped together (so I expect there was some other issue like maybe a
truck overturned and blew up destroying the contents of the truck or
some such issue, or the Terminator blasted it because John Connor was
driving). Last year I also had returned a package that was sent to
the UK. Neither the buyer nor myself knows why as he has gotten all
my other shipments fine. When the box (15x12x10 inch box) was
returned, it was pretty beat up. But the contents were entirely
undamaged. I sent a photo to the buyer and asked if my packages were
arriving like that and he said no, that my packages were arriving
just fine and un-damaged.
now sometimes I will take extra precautions. When I sold the Ferris
Bueller poster, it went inside a super-heavy duty tube and then I
packaged that inside a long box with lots of stuffing. The buyer told
me it took him a half hour to unpack it.
Your shipping rates are also very fair. You do have a benefit I don't
though: you are centralized while I am near the west coast. So this
year I will be creating a new shipping sheet where people in
California, Arizona, Utah and other near states will see a decrease
(currently $9 down to maybe $7) and those in NYC will see a small
increase (probably to $10) for basic shipping.
I also think that people know my grading is fair and consistent and
the fact that I also provide GIANT images for examination
Bruce, you are the Wal Mart of the poster world.. You have it all
(except not as much of the Saks 5th Avenue variety as Heritage gets
much of that today). I have no desire to be as big as Wal Mart and if
I'm just known as "Richie's Neighborhood Mini-Mart" I am not bothered
at all.. I know many successful Mini-Mart owners
