That's WHY we have talented restorers like Dianne. To keep the rest of us knuckleheads from ruining a museum quality piece like this.  Some of us were born to sell and some of us were born with more creative talents. So, from what I've gain here is a confirmation that's it's best to let the creative pros do their work and the rest of us grease-monkey salesman stick to selling.

Good point Bruce. If the image has transferred to the glass it is definitely not a good idea trying to remove the poster.

I have seen posters like this where entire sections of the poster had literally transferred to the glass, and there was no prayer of them coming off. You would have more luck transferring the rest of the poster to the glass rather than the other way around!

If it is bad enough, just leave it like it is and display it, and know that in 500 years almost all of your collection will have turned to dust anyway.

Kevin, you could try to cut away the parts of the glass that AREN'T stuck to the poster to make it easier to ship to your restorer.  A glass cutter is cheap and easy to get (just like me!) and doesn't require any particular genius to use.  Score, tap, and snap.  Wear gloves though (and OSHA inspectors would probably insist on eye protection if you're concerned about seeing your poster when you're done).

Much easier to protect a small chunk of glass for shipping than a big one.
