I used to manage an auto shop many years ago and while I could easily
have torn down & rebuilt any car engine that came my way at the time
(30 years ago), that was before computers started running our cars
today, I would have to be out-of-my-mind to try to work on my 3000GT
twin turbo. So I pay Mitsubishi 89$ an hour to work on my car
I pretty much apply the same rules to other things.. I might be able
to put up drywall at my warehouse, but I wouldn't dream of doing
plumbing, or air-conditioning or electrical work. Not unless I wanted
a flood, a hot summer office or to be electrocuted

and the rest of us grease-monkey salesman stick to selling.

Good point Bruce. If the image has transferred to the glass it is
definitely not a good idea trying to remove the poster.

I have seen posters like this where entire sections of the poster
had literally transferred to the glass, and there was no prayer of
them coming off. You would have more luck transferring the rest of
the poster to the glass rather than the other way around!
If it is bad enough, just leave it like it is and display it, and
know that in 500 years almost all of your collection will have
turned to dust anyway.

Kevin, you could try to cut away the parts of the glass that AREN'T
stuck to the poster to make it easier to ship to your restorer. A
glass cutter is cheap and easy to get (just like me!) and doesn't
require any particular genius to use. Score, tap, and snap. Wear
gloves though (and OSHA inspectors would probably insist on eye
protection if you're concerned about seeing your poster when you're done).
Much easier to protect a small chunk of glass for shipping than a big one.
