Jeffrey,

I couldn't tell you specifically what Polish poster is the oldest, and I'd
venture no one else can, any more than telling you what American poster is
the oldest.

Logically, I would think that Polish posters, in one form or another, have
existed for as long as movies have been shown in Poland, which, again, I'm
guessing, but I would say date back to the very early years of the 20th
century.

I'm not a collector of Polish posters in any way, not even close, but I have
an illustration of a Polish poster dating back to 1914! It was for the
showing of Zycie Zydow w Palestynie(Lives of Jews in Palestine), at the
Kinematograf "ODEON" in The Royal Town of Leczyca, Poland. 2 Days only!!
:)

The poster itself is in Duotone, with a lot of text, and reminds me a lot of
those Swedish "Inserts" which some of you may be familiar with.

Zeev

How come no one has answered my question, it's not like I'm new to this
forum or something.

What is the oldest polish poster you have seen? Any pre-war posters?
Surely there must some. And were they always so original looking?

of the Jedi is very unique and I think one of the best images on poster for
this film. High

Plains Drifter is a very iconic image and if I collected Westerns I'd own
it. And I've seen two versions for Raiders

of the Lost Ark.but this image is new to me.

Got me to thinking what's the oldest Polish Poster out there? I see
Godzilla is from 57 and High

Noon from 59.
