Bruce must not have posted that to the group.
but I would only re-iterate what Kenwick says as he pretty much covered it
correctly.
My apologies to Bruce if I have shared a 'private' message... I'll look
closer next time.

I do not recall ever hearing that CGC missed a coupon cut or missing page.
not saying it can't happen if someone is not paying attention when
grading. I've just not heard of any such claim yet

Bruce asked: But how many items are NEVER unslabbed? If you break open the
Action #1, does not its value go down by hundreds of thousands?
with most books this may or may not be correct depending on the situation,
however this would not happen with the Action #1s
slabbed or not, these issues would be worth the same today because they
would just be re-slabbed. Slabs can be replaced if broken. They can also be
regraded if requested. Slab replacement however may not necessitate
re-grading as long as the book - such as the action #1s have been previously
graded
& are identified as those issues (not difficult) and so the slab would
just be replaced.
Well, they would have to start the grading process all over again and treat
it like a new submission with another fee charge as well. It may grade a
bit higher or lower the next time around.... you never know.

concerning what JR said about forgeries
while I have discussed the possibility of covers being forged, I don't
know how anyone would be able to forge a complete golden age comic book and
the 2 copies of Action #1 that sold are longtime known copies in the hobby
anyway.

Thanks for clarifying that. This group is currently forgery-paranoid.
I assume there are some "still" collectors here? CGC does certify original
stills, and can't help but wonder the impact of those collectors, as I
haven't checked up on that stuff.
