I just got this information from the seller.  He makes an interesting point about whether the studios would have created a new plate for the 1937 release just to "rotate the plane".

"By all means
examine the card closely, but there is no possibility
of the borders ever having been replaced, The paper
is clean and uniform, not trimmed,
restored or modified, I've had it under black light but
it's clear to the naked eye. As I mentioned, I've had
this card and the 1937 version in my collection at
the same time. Aside from the "Country of Origin
U,S,A," vs. "Copyright 1937 etc etc etc" difference,
the paper is different, inks and colors brighter,
register of the image sharper. The expert
consensus I arrived at years ago, after the major
auction house from which I got the card had already
certified and sold it as original, is that there was an
alternate design used little, if at all, in 1930. This is
not the only original card with diagonal artwork that
I've ever seen, but I've been collecting for 40 years
and seen maybe two others. If, as we know, they
reused the same plates from the original set to
produce the 1937 set, and we know that the film
wasn't rereleased at any other time in the '30's,
there would be no reason to incur the added
expense of changing the design to simply rotate the
plane artwork for reissue cards. But a diagonal
plane version already having been created in 1930,
then revived to strike the 1937 set, makes sense. "

If Grey is correct (and it certainly is possible he is), then I have been sold cards so expertly altered that I was fooled (and even before Mendez, there were other unscrupulous restorers who did such criminal alterations). I will do as I always do in these situations and look back over the images of EVERY Hell's Angels card we EVER sold and examine them, and if we find any suspicious ones, we will e-mail the buyers of those cards and offer them a refund or price adjustment, even if its been ten or twenty years. There's no "buyer beware" at eMoviePoster.com.

I believe Heritage has sold more of these cards than anyone and I have never seen an original card with the plane artwork at an angle nor have I ever seen a 1937 reissue card with the plane artwork vertical!
All of the cards I have dealt with over the past twenty plus years on this title have the original cards having the artwork in the vertical attitude with the only info in the borders in the lower right saying, "Country of Origin, U.S.A."
The 1937 reissue cards are always dated in the lower right with the plane at an angle and a United Artist blurb at the lower left explaining that the advertising material is the property of UA.
They used the exact same photos for each release on both sets.
I would be interested to see cards that prove otherwise as would be a new one on me.
