This is so funny that you pointed out the parade saddle. I had noticed
some weeks ago as it reminds me of my growing up in San Antonio. The rodeo
was always held at the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum. My parents
(especially my Mom, quite the horsewoman and showed quarter horses) were very
close
friends of the two brothers that started the San Antonio Livestock
Exhibition (hence the source of my first name when I was adopted) and going to
the
rodeo until a young adult. As a kid, I used to be mesmerized by these
saddles during the opening of each rodeo, the incredible craftsmanship was a
marvel to young eyes as I would go to the barns and watch the owners
carefully polishing their saddles with utmost care and pride. Then during the
procession of the trail riders before each performance, when the spotlights
would hit the leads atop these saddles, they would literally gleam like the
treasures they truly are. As a kid I knew they were expensive but had no
idea they were THAT expensive! Whoa!

Now the rodeo is held in the same soul less stadium the Spurs play that
sits next to the old Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum (obviously more seats)
but all the barns and stalls that my Mom had helped design surrounding are
still in use. This year, she was inducted into the Hall Of Fame, only the
second woman in the exhibitions history to be so honored.

I know this is not a movie poster, but I am sure there are some Mopo
collector's that might be interested in seeing.
No, it is not my poster, but since you did bring it up I do have a saddle
in the auction I think is worth looking at as well and would appreciate
passing on to any high end Western collectors.
These are both in the Heritage Americana auction this month.
