Truly one of the greats!! A friend and I attended her one-woman show in the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans in the early 1980s. We were on the front row!! One of the most astounding performances I've ever witnessed! Three different show-stopping arrangements of "Stormy Weather!" Afterwards we went to the stage door and Lena came out and sat in the back seat of the limo with the door opened. We chatted with her (she was exhausted, of course) and she autographed window-card posters we had purchased for us. I still have mine, of course. What an entertainer! What a survivor! What a class-act!! RIP, Lena!! Joe B in NOLA --- On Mon, 5/10/10, Glenn Taranto <[email protected]> wrote:

She was a great talent to say the very least... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37056196/ns/today-today_entertainment?GT1=43001 Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___________________________________________________________________ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: [email protected] In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
