Two most tearful endings to me were:

Romeo and Juliet (1968 version Olivia Hussey & Leonard Whiting,
director-Zeffirelli)
One Potato Two Potato (1964 child custody case Barbara Barrie, Bernie Hamilton)

Natalie Wood had plenty of everything except a Spanish accent.  Definitely was
an outstanding actress but gone too soon.

When I was a kid the ending to West Side Story was a killer to me except that I
could never get past Natalie Wood and the spanish accent. I love Natalie Wood
but, even as a small child, I thought the accent sounded so fake!

In a Lonely Place, no death at the end but a massive downer.
Titanic, tears of laughter.
