Bruce - I don;t remember that one and thought I'd seen every Antique Roadshow.
Any idea when it was (anybody?).

Remember those poor souls (two women) who found a ton of newspaper ad molds and
was told by some "expert" that they were the original art for the posters and
worth millions? I heard they quit their jobs so they could cash in on their
jackpot. I bet that turned out pretty dismally.

They could do an entire show on people like that.

That was my first reaction as well. I tend to frown when I see an "expert" say
something like "easily worth up to".  Have to wonder if they like honey or
maple syrup on their waffles.

And yes, unfortunately the dollar sign is usually more newsworthy (or at least
attractive to readers - which kind of defines "newsworthy") than aesthetic
considerations.

May the holes in your collection be filled.

Did the guy who said they were "worth" $200 million have his checkbook out?
Reminds me of a lot of Antiques Roadshow "values"!

Seems a shame the monetary value has to be such a large part that news story,
it's great work and an important find.
