On the show I saw where they found movie posters they estimated them much higher than they were worth. Regards

Recently I got a chance to sit down and watch a bunch of episodes of American Pickers, and I came away with a similar sense of "unreality". These guys seem to always pay a somewhat fair percentage of retail, even when the people they are buying from have no clue of value. Everything is like "they paid $60, they can sell it for $100". You never see them make a "score" (buy something for pennies on the dollar), unless it is something they claim they know nothing about when they buy it. Not once do you see them privately say "This item is worth $1,000, but I can tell these people have no clue, so I am going to offer $50". Sometimes they drive 1,000 miles and then buy three items and make a couple of hundred bucks? Hmmm....
