I recommended to Nigel Arthur, the curator of the BFI collection, that he join
MoPo and, if he does, he may answer some of your points. I rather doubt that we
will come across another copy of it though!

Thanks Nick. Well, that's the last thing I was expecting. At least I know I
wasn't going completely out of my mind with the censor stamp.
But however much I stare at it, I can't convince myself it's an 11x14 lobby
card or a 22x28 lobby card (i.e. half sheet, described as lobby card in
pressbooks from that time). The only lobbies or half sheets I've seen from
pre-40s US releases that were used in Britain were taken from, or at least
almost identical to, the US campaign.
To me the overall wear and damage make it look like thin paper, like a trade
ad, pressbook or magazine. Along with the look of the print quality, style,
blurb etc, as Phil mentioned.
Hmm.

Hello Nick

The image is a UK loby card of Swing Time. The stamp says

British Board of Film Censors

U certificate

There are stains and creases and general wear throughout. Maybe this adds to
the age and authenticity of the image..

Colour has been retained. There is also a mark at the bottom where someone
has written in pencil or ink Swing Time but this can easily be air brushed
out. It is a really strong image. Graphic Designer unknown.

Kind regards
