I used to have a circa 1896 Edison full colour stone litho 30x40 poster that was rolled. Used to have several 19th Century theatre posters that were also rolled. I suspect that while it's unusual for early cinema posters to be found rolled today, it's not that unusual for poster people back in the 60s and 70s. I actually forgot that we have a rolled one sheet from PASSION PLAY ca. 1908. David Lieberman CineMasterpieces.com | 15721 N. I also have two rolled 1-sheets for the 1948 re-release of Winter Carnival (the one with the bogus Robert Mitchum credit), which I think are fairly common. I had never personally handled a rolled one sheet so old before. The oldest rolled one sheet we had before this was from Guys and Dolls 1955. Bruce posted on one of the forums some spectacular 1930's rolled one sheets. David Lieberman CineMasterpieces.com | 15721 N. And probably rarer than the original one sheet. MovieArt sold this poster in 2007. Not common. As I recall, the 1949 one sheet is a really stunning piece. Looks more like 1956. Lots of fake rolled 1956 Casablanca 1/2 Sheets out there.... Rick In a message dated 1/24/2011 11:05:54 A.M.
