I worked in record stores in my errant youth and Barry was worshipped by the 
soundtrack buyers.  He did define that period
for soundtrack lovers.  He was a great talent.  I am sorry to hear of his death.

Fortunately, his music lives on.  

My favorite John Barry score:  THE LION IN WINTER.
