Just as a general comment, I've notice increasingly that messages from eBay to email addresses can be slow coming through and often don't come through at all. Coincidence or not, this appears to be more frequent on (U.S.) weekends. One might receive them in My eBay My Messages, but that's the only place one might see them.

For some reason I did not find the additional explanation of the cancellation the first two times I looked at the emails from ebay and the item listing. I see it now, and would not have popped off had I seen it earlier. You're a gentleman, and are patient with your shy-of-all-the-info customers. -Tom On Mar 13, 2011, at 5:28 PM, JOHN REID Vintage Movie Memorabilia wrote: Hi Tom This was my auction. After I had listed it I realised that I had made an error in the condition description. I couldn't alter it because bids had been placed. I have rarely had to cancel an auction and it took me a while how to work out how to do this because there were bids but I put a clear explanation and I understood that both bidders received that information by email. Also, if you go to the ended auction you can clearly see why the auction was ended by going here (albeit they only allow you a certain number of words in the explanation) .... http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p4340.l2565&item=370490665683 I have now relisted the poster. http://cgi.ebay.com/CONAN-BARBARIAN-82-Arnold-Schwarzenegger-daybill-/370492629913?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item564314e399 As to your bid not being high enough to suit, the auction still had more than a day to go when I ended it and I had no problem at all with the price it was at. I do understand that it is annoying to have an auction ended early but I think it is better to do that than send something that is not as decribed. I realize there might be other reasons, but it would be nice to at least send a message through ebay to let me know why, as opposed to the impersonal ebay form letter telling me "the item is no longer available," which I always read to mean, "Your bid wasn't high enough to suit me--it's not really a bargain' " I read a lot of posts here with dealers complaining that they don't get good action on Ebay. Just sayin': this sort of thing makes me less likely to click over to ebay after seeing a seller's MOPO advertising. -Tom Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___________________________________________________________________ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: [email protected] In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.
