My curiosity got the better of me in the end, and I got in touch with
Thomas at nordicposters. My half-forgotten memory was not far off the mark
after all. The original and re-release are identical (even down to the
printer)
except for a slight variation in colour. He very kindly showed me some
comparative images:-

The first is the original. Obviously, there might be small differences
anyway due to lighting, but I think you can see the lettering and hand on the
original have more bronze/reddish tones, whereas the re-release is more
yellowish. He also advised that the originals always come folded – the mint
rolled ones are re-releases. The same sort of situation exists with Swedish
Dr No and FRWL.
