when I first heard of Profiles in History was in the 80s...
he had some Errol Flynn items
this was PRE Planet Hollywood days...
well I tryed toconvince a Guy in town that wanted a Cinema themed
restraunt to Go with some cool Props and artifacts likeHard Rock Cafe
I said we could make it the Hollywood version... I said Icould do it
for 20 K
there was many items flaoting around from the MGM sale.. I had
several like the
breatplatte and helment from Ben Hur I ended up selling it to
hollywood.
there was tons ofcostumes back then from WB and the MGM and also the
renatl houses.. I bought several.
But Debbie was at the 1970 MGM sale and BOUGHT everything.. also her
assistant Jon Lebold who I met in detroit had tons of stuff.....
Its amazeing as the collectors saved it NOT the studios... but then
they tried to sue to get them back...
John told me he filled canvas laundry carts for 50 cents a costume
back then as they just needed space
remember also the GWTW set was actually King Kong RKO and was burnt
down for the burning atlanta scenes the cb demille set and Dw
Griffith I think are still buried in the Calif Desert,, Its all still
out there just spread around the USA now.
