now that you mention this, i remember that "rule" being put into
place by ebay, a while back. So the only recourse is to give a
positive mark, then lambast them in the comments box.
That is NOT good, for anyone who might simply look at someone's
overall score, at a glance, and not actually open and read the comments.

As a seller, you can't leave negative feedback.
In fact I had a similar case a while back, when at least a seller
could leave neutral feedback.
My comments were negative, and I got a nasty note from eBay
threatening to take action against me if I do this again.
I'm sure now it all makes sense.

What is also very curious.
i just looked at this proficient911's feedback..
he has 100% positive feedback, for the last 12 months..but thats
not the strange part. There is one seller (ebay ID tomvuyo0), that
he bought from who left feedback, saying that he never paid for 37
posters, is a deadbeat, and to watch out (and he repeated this
warning as his feedback comment about the greek buyer multiple
times), yet, for every item, the seller gave him POSITIVE
feedback!! that makes no sense.
