Christies realized 1625 pounds for the mislabeled 2001 Starchild poster.
This is not one of those emails where people talk about the bad old auction
houses.
So don't get me wrong. This was a mistake on Christies' part, I'm sure.
I did not get to talk yesterday to the consultant, only her assistant.
Whether Christies issued a caveat on the estimate on this poster, I don't know.
It did not issue any correction in the e-catalogue.
Maybe they did so in the live auction, I don't know.
We will sell the REAL one we have for 1625 pounds.
