Yes, there are people that display that size.

There are also people who are simply collectors with an interest in anything on
a given title.

This poster looks a little wider than most 24 sheets I have encountered.
I have seen these posters referred to as "poster panels." Obviously they are
not for everyone, but I think that one can state that,
with a some exceptions these posters are title for title the scarcest of any
American paper. Yes, there have been several SPELLBOUNDS and
GOLDFINGERS and CLOCKWORK ORANGES. But these are the exception that "proves
the rule" as they say. Most of these 24 sheets
were discarded by the exchanges because these would only have been used in
first-run applications. After that there was little demand for them.
Since they were big and bulky one can only assume that the exchanges just
dumped them. I suspect that this was the same for all exterior billboards
advertising whatever.

While I'm not prepared to say that this is the best poster design for the U.S.
campaign for this film, the design does certainly exploit the wide
format well.
