Sorry Jeff, I somewhat disagree with your assessment of the Belgian posters. They are usually superbly drawn/painted, but my knock against them is that no matter the title or subject matter, the all come across as oh-so-happy with their rosy cheeks that it makes me want to scream.

Poster after poster from the 1940s and '50s have just stunning images created of Monroe, Bergman, A Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Cary Grant and so many others, IMO. They can be both beautiful and extremely close in presentation, emotion and energy.
