Thats interesting Helmut
There have been many other posters listed for huge amounts on ebay but I wonder
if anything has ever sold for more than 100k.

John

Two original onesheets for THIS GUN FOR HIRE sold on ebay within the last
four weeks or so. If I remember correctly, the first one (in lesser condition)
went for like $18,000+, the second one for somewhat over $14,000.

So, to answer at least one of your questions: High end posters do show up on
ebay from time to time, and they also sell.

Yes, I am asking a few questions.

    1. I am guessing that the most original movie posters would be sold through
ebay but not entirely sure.
    2. I also imagine that they would have the highest total dollar sales as
well.
    3. but I am also wondering if any really high end posters are sold on ebay
and if so which ones? Plenty of dealers have listed some of the worlds most
valuable posters on ebay but not sure if many (or any) of those have sold.

    Regards
    John

John, you seem to be asking three questions at once!

Are you talking about the greatest number of posters, the most expensive
single posters, or the most total dollars in posters?

Remember you have to take out all the repros and non-poster crap, and all
the items where the buyer never paid (impossible to know).

I'm sure that Bruce and Heritage would probably be selling more movie
posters than ever and their sales appear to be growing each year. However, I
would imagine that eBay is still by far the biggest venue for the sale of movie
posters. Whilst the sales records of Bruce and Heritage are available, ebay's
sales records are not available after three months. In any case, it would
probably be impossible to determine accurate records of sales of movie posters
and lobby cards so I could be entirely wrong in saying that more posters are
sold on ebay than anywhere else. I do know that there have been some high end
sales on ebay but these are often not reported.

I would be interested to hear whether anyone has any thoughts on this.
Does anyone know of any really high prices paid for posters on eBay or will the
high end posters only appear with Bruce or Heritage?

        Regards
        John
