Hi to you all
A buyer recently told me that he purchased a poster from a seller on ebay and
was told that the item was on consignment from a third party in another
country. The interesting thing is that the seller did not actually have the
poster. He had apparently made an agreement where the consignor would send it
to him only if a sale was made. To me, that seems to open up all sorts of
potential problems. What if the consignor changes his mind despite the fact
that the sale has been made? What if the poster turns out to have more issues
than expected bearing in mind that the seller has not physically handled the
poster? What about shipping delays caused by the double handling?
I'm just curious as to how this works. Have you come across dealers who sell
posters on consignment without actually holding the posters? Have you ever
consigned posters in this way? Have any sales worked out well for you?
Regards
John
