Is there perhaps by implication another internet auctioneer running three
auctions a week (who shall remain anonymous) thought to be making excessive
promotional posts?

And since the posts will be to some degree proportionate to the number of
auctions, is the issue more the actual number of auctions, and the amount of
paper being brought to market?

Just curious.

I'd find the future of the hobby or even the current state of it an interesting
topic. Lot of paper out there now, or at least far more easily available than
it was once. The middle class are earning less in real terms, have less
disposable income and we no longer have the easy credit culture which I imagine
was some factor for a boom in this stuff 15 odd years ago.

And without wanting to get into the politics, a lot more of the money is going
to the top and they're not going to be interested in anything other than
setting insane new records for the more fashionable names in modern art.

(Just a general interest, dumped a lot of stuff, what's left is there for
enjoyment, if it goes up in value that's a bonus.)

Meanwhile there's that unnamed behemoth shifting a hell of a lot of paper for
its true worth, or perhaps depending on your point of view, ruining values.

May not be appropriate for open discussion, just thought I felt a little bit of
an undercurrent.

The number of FS and the like haven't felt excessive to me. Don't mind seeing
them in case there's something I'm interested in, and pretty easy to ignore and
bin if not.

And besides, I think Kirby is right, I don't imagine putting a cap on it would
increase discussion.
