*. and as of this writing, with a day to go, over 600 of the items are at $1 or have no bid! **But there is an important difference about this set of auctions! *Normally we auction non-U.S. posters on Tuesdays or Thursdays, but because many of our European bidders have told us that it is inconvenient that those auctions close "in the middle of the night" for them, we have scheduled this auction (and also our previous auction of unfolded non-U.S. posters that started two weeks ago) to run on Sundays instead (see below for more on this). While this will surely help some of our non-U.S. buyers, there may be others who don't realize these posters are closing on Sunday afternoon, and this may create the opportunity for great deals! *OF COURSE, THESE AUCTIONS ALSO END RIGHT AFTER OUR GREAT APRIL MAJOR AUCTION ENDED, SO THAT TOO MIGHT MEAN SOME BUYERS WERE DISTRACTED (or "wiped out", either financially or emotionally), AND IF SO, YOU WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT, BECAUSE THIS MIGHT WELL MEAN YOU GET MANY INCREDIBLE BUYS!* And the current bid prices on these 999 Australian & German posters + other non-U.S. posters & lobby cards certainly seem to bear this out! I just looked over these items and many of the prices on these are really hard to believe! With just over two days to go, the items include 220 items with no bids (22%), 605 items at $1 or with no bids (61%), 631 items at $2 or less (63%), 666 items at $3 or less (67%), 698 items at $4 or less (70%), and 726 items at $5 or less (73%)! *THAT'S RIGHT! THE VAST MAJORITY OF THESE ITEMS ARE CURRENTLY AT $1 OR HAVE NO BID. THE ONLY WAY THEY COULD BE LESS EXPENSIVE WOULD BE IF WE GAVE THEM AWAY! *Here is more about why these auctions close on Sunday: You will likely recall that I have been paying attention to non-U.S. buyers who have told me that they wish our Tuesday and Thursday auctions did not "end in the middle of the night" for some of them. I held a poll to see about having our Tuesday and Thursday auctions close an hour earlier, but the results were strongly in favor of leaving them as they are. So while I can't find a way to change our Tuesday and Thursday ending times that would make most bidders happy, I *CAN* give *EVERY* non-U.S. buyer a real chance to have what they want, by scheduling the items they are most likely interested in (non-U.S. posters) to end on Sundays, when those auctions start closing *FOUR* hours earlier than our Tuesday and Thursday auctions. Therefore, I have scheduled *THIS* auction of 999 Australian & German posters + other non-U.S. posters & lobby cards to run from Sunday 4/6 to Sunday 4/13 (just two days from now), and two weeks ago I did the same with an auction of unfolded non-U.S. posters. Because these auctions will close starting four hours ahead of when they would have if they had been held on Tuesdays instead, as they normally are, this will find out if more non-U.S. bidders participate and the proof will be whether or not those auctions do as well or better on Sundays than they would have done on Tuesday.
