Because it would cost 20-40K to put it on in Austin proper. My engineering society just did one in Austin to the tune of 38K for 300 attendees.

Water gushing out of the elevators, down stairways, flooding rooms & hallways and making at least 2 inches of ice at the exit door. Checking out was insane and the poor girl at the front desk had to deal with dozens of irate customers....no management to be found.
