24x36 has long be the most common size for mass produced posters. It is also
the most common standard size in ready made poster frames.

OK. I get the Mondo connection. I didn’t really think about that aspect of
it, or know that Mondo posters were 24 x36, I guess.
As to why 24x36 was adopted as a size for repros — dunno!

today's standard size for repro movie posters, I'm selling tons of them (from
Casablanca to Breakfast at Tiffany's to Suicide Squad and so on). Only a tiny
fraction of 24x36 is produced by studios like Mondo. By the way, does anyone
have any idea why they choose exactly that size for reprint posters? Is 24x36
any standard size for something else? Anyway, a movie about movieposters with
24x36 in its title is a bit disappointing as the real and most common size
remains the 27x41 one sheet. One would hope that the content is much better.

About Movie Posters I really dislike those effects on the posters. The posters
should and do speak for themselves. They don’t need cgi “help.” Also, 24x36?
Really? One of the most common sizes for a repro? Really? Ha! Kirby
