He was a really nice person. I worked with him on the 60s Batman film. Fox decided that he and Robin should do a tour of 26 theaters in N.Y. It was a nightmare with huge and sometimes aggressive crowds. We had NY police, private security and 3 de-frocked Marines helping hold back the fans who were truly fanatic. West was a pro throughout, wading into the sea of people to get to the theater door. Things got pretty dangerous, but neither him or Burt Ward said a word about leaving the tour. rudy franchi
